IT CERTIFICATION UPDATES MARCH 2011

We are living in technology era that is why needing professional certifications apart of college/university degrees. The more you equipped yourself with new technologies the more worth you would have in the industry.

Companies like Cisco, Microsoft, VMware and CompTIA are some of many vendors that are working for last many years to offer new technologies. Update yourself for the new development in IT Certifications in March 2011.

Microsoft MCPD


 

Microsoft is worked on system level that provides various kind of application related to development and platform like Windows to work on. Recently Microsoft released new MCDP certification that based on Windows Azure Application.

Microsoft actually announced Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCDP) certification on February 14th and focused Windows Azure Applications. Developers with experience of 6th month in Windows Azure that includes SQL Azure, AppFabric, and IIS etc. are eligible for MCDP certification.

In order to achieve the MCDP certification one must successfully pass the following exam: Exam 70-513(Windows Communication Foundation Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4) Exam 70-516 (Accessing Data with Microsoft .NET Framework 4) Exam 70-583 (Designing and Developing Windows Azure Application) After completing the certification you must renew it after two years. Microsoft Cloud Certifications: Apart from the above mentioned certifications Microsoft also offered following new certifications: PaaS (Platform as a Service)

VMware
VMware soon to be announce new Certification called VMware Certified Associate 4-Desktop (VCA4-DT). Although exact date of release not known yet and there is no prerequisite for this certification but VMware recommend following course in order to achieve the certification.

 

Cisco Introduces New Security Specialist Certifications


Security is key area where Cisco is no focusing on both at hardware level and at certifications level. On February 2nd Cisco announced some Security Specialist Certification that will help to minimize the risk within network.

Cisco already offered security certifications like IPS, NAC and ASA but added three more certifications as follow:

  • Cisco IOS Security Specialist

    •  

  • Cisco Firewall Security Specialist

    •  

  • Cisco VPN Security Specialist

    •  

Cisco Virtual Class Room Certification

If someone wishes to teach other online using virtual classrooms then you must pass the Cisco VCS Certification that is based on 75 Questions and 10-20 minutes WebEx recording of your teaching. Exam price is stands at $150 and certification set to release in the month of March. Moreover this certification is not specifically designed for IT professional only but vendors can also get this certification that plan to operated online teaching classrooms. Cisco VCS certification is valid for 3 years only. One with intention to get this certification must pass the following certification exam: Exam 642-132 LVCI  

CompTIA Announces CTP+ Certification

In association with Certification Partners LLC, CompTIA offered Convergence Technologies Professional certification (CTP+). After getting this certification IT Professional will get the knowledge of Distribution of Data, Voice, and Video on single network.

Following are some of the main topics that will be covered in CTP+ certification:

  • Planning IP networks
  • Wireless networking
  • Voice and telephony services, functions and technologies including protocols, and voice troubleshooting in digital and analog environments
  • Identifying requirements for transporting text, voice, video, modem and fax through a converged solution
